CVE-2023-25280
D-Link DIR-820 Router
D-Link DIR-820 routers contain an OS command injection vulnerability that allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to escalate privileges to root via a crafted payload with the ping_addr parameter to ping.ccp.
Exploitation status
- CISA has confirmed this is being exploited in the wild. That is an observation of real attacks, not a prediction.
- US federal civilian agencies are required to remediate it by 2024-10-21. That deadline does not bind private companies, but it is a reasonable benchmark for how urgently CISA views it.
Required action
The impacted product is end-of-life (EoL) and/or end-of-service (EoS). Users should discontinue utilization of the product.
CISA’s wording, unedited.
