Humhub Files

CVE-2025-54789

Files is a module for managing files inside spaces and user profiles. In versions 0.16.9 and below, the File Move functionality does not contain logic that prevents injection of arbitrary JavaScript, which can lead to Browser JS code execution in the context of the user’s session. This is fixed in version 0.16.10.

What this means for your business

  • It affects Humhub Files. It matters if your company, or a supplier that handles your data, runs it.
  • An attacker can use it remotely, over a network, without a login, but only after tricking someone into an action such as opening a file or a link.

What to do

  1. 1Check whether your company or your suppliers run Humhub Files, and which version. The affected versions are listed further down this page.
  2. 2If you do, apply the vendor's fix. A patch or vendor advisory has been published.
