What runs the business today?

One database for the whole business, at a price small companies can carry.

Most growing businesses run on a stack of tools that don't talk to each other: a CRM, an accounting package, a stock spreadsheet, a separate shop. Odoo replaces most of that with apps that share one database, so a sale updates stock, stock updates the books, and the numbers agree without anyone copying them across.

  • Start small, add apps later

Begin with three or four apps and add Manufacturing, Helpdesk or Payroll when you're ready. Nothing needs re-implementing.

  • Lower licence cost

Odoo's per-user subscription is usually well below SAP Business One, Dynamics 365 Business Central or NetSuite, and Community is free.

  • No lock-in to one partner

Odoo is open source at its core, with a large partner network. Your database and custom code stay yours if you ever change who supports you.

  • Modern and still moving

A major release every year, three years of standard support for each, and Odoo's own upgrade service on Enterprise.

Compare Odoo with

Licence model

Odoo

Community edition is free and open source. Enterprise is a per-user monthly or yearly subscription that includes all apps, plus a free plan for a single app.

SAP Business One

Named-user licences, bought outright with yearly maintenance or as a subscription, sold only through SAP partners.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Per-user monthly subscription in Essentials and Premium tiers, with cheaper licences for occasional users.

Oracle NetSuite

Yearly subscription: a base platform fee plus per-user fees and add-on modules, priced by quote.

Typical cost for a small business

Odoo

Usually the lowest per user of the four, and you can start with a few apps and add more later.

SAP Business One

Mid-range licence cost, with partner implementation fees typically adding the larger share.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Mid-range per-user cost; often attractive if you already pay for Microsoft 365.

Oracle NetSuite

Usually the highest entry cost of the four, because of the platform fee and modules.

Typical time to go live (SMB)

Odoo

Weeks to a few months. Odoo reports most projects in its own estimator go live in 200 consultant hours or less.

SAP Business One

Commonly three to six months, depending on the partner and scope.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Commonly two to six months, depending on the partner and scope.

Oracle NetSuite

Commonly two to six months, often using a pre-configured industry setup.

Customisation approach

Odoo

Studio for no-code changes; full Python modules on Odoo.sh or self-hosted. Odoo Online allows Studio only.

SAP Business One

Add-ons and partner development through SAP's SDK and service layer.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Extensions written in AL, plus Power Platform for workflows and apps.

Oracle NetSuite

SuiteScript (JavaScript) and SuiteFlow workflows on Oracle's cloud.

Breadth of apps

Odoo

Very broad in one product: CRM, sales, accounting, inventory, manufacturing, POS, eCommerce, website, projects, helpdesk, HR and more.

SAP Business One

Strong core ERP for finance, inventory, sales and production; CRM and HR are basic, and eCommerce usually comes from add-ons.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Strong core finance, supply chain and projects; full CRM and commerce are separate Dynamics products, and HR features are basic.

Oracle NetSuite

Broad finance and operations with eCommerce and CRM options; many features are paid modules.

Hosting options

Odoo

Odoo Online (Odoo's cloud), Odoo.sh (Odoo's cloud with custom code), or your own server.

SAP Business One

On your own server or hosted by an SAP partner's cloud.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Microsoft's cloud as standard; on-premises still available through partners.

Oracle NetSuite

Oracle's cloud only.

Ecosystem

Odoo

Large partner network and tens of thousands of third-party apps on the Odoo App Store, of varying quality.

SAP Business One

Mature partner network with industry add-ons; you are tied to a partner for licences and support.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Large Microsoft partner network and AppSource marketplace; close fit with Microsoft 365 and Power BI.

Oracle NetSuite

Partner network and SuiteApp marketplace; Oracle also implements directly.

When it's not the best fit

Odoo

Very large or highly regulated operations that need deep industry certification, or a company with no one to own the system internally.

SAP Business One

Very small teams wanting a quick, low-cost start, or businesses that want CRM, eCommerce and HR in one product.

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Businesses outside the Microsoft ecosystem, or those wanting POS, website and HR in the same product.

Oracle NetSuite

Cost-sensitive small businesses, or those that need to host on their own servers.

A general guide for small and mid-sized businesses, as of October 2026. Each vendor's pricing varies by country, edition, user type and contract length, so ask for written quotes on the same user count before you decide.

When Odoo is not the right choice

We'd rather lose a project than start one that will struggle. Odoo is usually the wrong call if:

  • You need industry certification Odoo doesn't carry, such as validated batch records for regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing or a certified electronic health record.
  • You run a large, multi-country group with complex consolidation and thousands of users, where a tier-one ERP's depth is worth its cost.
  • Nobody in the business can own the system after go-live. Any ERP needs an internal owner who makes decisions and keeps data clean.
  • One specialist tool already does 90% of your work well, and the rest is a small accounting need. A lighter tool may serve you better.

How we deliver an Odoo project

Seven steps, the same on every implementation. You see the work as it is built, not only at the end.

Timings are typical for a small or mid-sized rollout. Your written plan sets the real dates.

  1. 1

    Discovery and fit-gap

    Week 1–2

Workshops with the people who do the work, then a document showing what standard Odoo covers, what needs configuration and what needs code. You get a fixed quote.

  2. 2

    Configuration

    Weeks 2–5

We build the agreed setup in a test database and show you each part as it's ready, rather than all at the end.

  3. 3

    Data migration

    Weeks 3–6

Customers, products, stock and opening balances cleaned and imported to the test database first, checked by you, then loaded for real at cut-over.

  4. 4

    Customisation

    Alongside configuration

Only what the fit-gap justified: Studio changes first, small tested modules where code is needed.

  5. 5

    Training and acceptance testing

    Final 1–2 weeks

Each team learns its own screens, then runs real scenarios end to end. What fails is fixed before go-live.

  6. 6

    Go-live

    Agreed date

Final data load and switch-over on an agreed date, with a consultant on call throughout.

  7. 7

    Hypercare

    2–4 weeks after go-live

Close support while the first orders, invoices and month-end close run through Odoo, then handover to support or to your team.

What it costs to start

What a software and security company adds to an Odoo project.

Many Odoo partners focus on configuration. We're a software house with a cybersecurity team, so three things that usually need another supplier are part of how we work: we check who can reach your Odoo, we build AI that uses your Odoo data safely, and we finish projects other partners left half done.

  • Odoo security check

Odoo projects are usually about configuration. We also run a cybersecurity practice, so we check your instance the way an attacker would and then fix what we find.

    • Access-rights review
    • User and role hygiene
    • Two-factor authentication and password policy
    • Hosting hardening
  • AI inside Odoo

We add AI where it saves real time inside Odoo, using Odoo's own AI features first, and we tell you exactly what leaves your server.

    • Document and invoice capture
    • Answers from your Odoo data
    • Suggested Helpdesk replies
    • Forecasting
  • Odoo Rescue

We audit what was built, stabilise what's live, finish what's missing and hand it back with documentation, without starting again unless that's genuinely cheaper.

Who you work with, and how

Odoo is a new practice for us, so you won't find client logos or numbers here that we can't stand behind. This is what we can promise instead.

Who leads your project

  • Odoo-certified consultants

Your project is scoped and led by consultants who hold Odoo's own certification, and they stay on it through go-live.

  • NDA on request

We sign your NDA, or ours, before you share data, processes or code.

  • A reply within one business day

To every enquiry and every support request, from a person who knows Odoo.

How the work runs

  • A fixed written scope before anything starts

The fit-gap workshop ends in a document that lists every app, workflow, report and data set, with a fixed quote. Nothing is built before you agree it.

  • Standard Odoo first, code last

Configuration before Studio, Studio before custom modules, and code only where the fit-gap shows it pays for itself, so upgrades stay simple.

  • Everything stays in your name

Your Odoo subscription is with Odoo, the database is yours, and custom code lives in your own Git repository with notes on what it does.

Questions we hear most

How much does it cost to implement Odoo?

Two costs: Odoo's licence, paid to Odoo, and the implementation, paid to us. Our founding-client implementation starts at $1,500 for up to three apps with standard setup. As a rough guide, small businesses on three to five apps typically spend $1,500 to $5,000 with us, and manufacturers or distributors on eight or more apps more often $8,000 to $20,000. The free assessment turns that into an estimate for your apps and user count, and the fit-gap workshop into a fixed quote.

How long does an Odoo implementation take?

As an estimate, 3 to 6 weeks for a small business on a few standard apps, and 8 to 16 weeks with inventory, manufacturing or a move from another ERP. Your team's time for decisions, data and testing is usually what sets the pace.

Odoo Community or Odoo Enterprise?

Community is free and open source, but you host it yourself and several apps are missing, including full Accounting, Helpdesk, Payroll, Field Service, Quality, Barcode, Sign and Documents. Enterprise is a per-user subscription that adds those apps, Odoo's hosting on Odoo Online or Odoo.sh, and Odoo's upgrade service. We support both and show you the cost of each for your user count.

Do we pay Odoo licences through you?

No. Your Odoo subscription is with Odoo, in your company's name, and paid to Odoo separately from our work. That way the subscription and the database stay yours whoever supports you. We help you pick the right plan and number of users.

Can you move our data from spreadsheets, QuickBooks, Xero or another ERP?

Yes. We import customers, suppliers, products, open orders and invoices, stock levels and opening balances, with a trial import you check before the real one. Full transaction history usually stays in the old system as an archive unless you need it moved.

Who owns the custom code you write?

You do, once the work is paid for. It lives in a Git repository under your account, with notes on what each module does. Nothing is locked to us.

What happens after go-live?

Two to four weeks of hypercare, where we're on hand for the first real orders, invoices and month-end. After that you can move to a support plan from $199 a month, or run it yourselves with the handover notes and training.

Which countries do you work in?

We have offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE and Pakistan, and deliver most Odoo projects remotely, so location is rarely a barrier. Tax and e-invoicing rules differ by country, so we confirm your localisation needs in the assessment.

Which Odoo versions do you work with?

Odoo 18, 19 and 20, on Enterprise (Odoo Online and Odoo.sh) and Community (self-hosted). New projects normally start on Odoo 20, released in September 2026. If you're on an older version, our migration service plans the upgrade.

What does the free assessment include?

You tell us which apps you're considering, how many users, what you run today and your timeline. A consultant reviews it and replies within one business day with a recommended scope, a realistic timeline, a starting price and any risks we see, such as an app that needs Enterprise. There's no obligation to go ahead.
