Odoo Rescue: Your Odoo project stalled. Here's how it gets finished.

We audit what was built, stabilise what's live, finish what's missing and hand it back with documentation, without starting again unless that's genuinely cheaper.

Where things usually stand

The project was meant to take three months. It's been nine. Go-live keeps moving, or it happened and people have gone back to spreadsheets.

Perhaps the previous partner disappeared, the freelancer stopped replying, or the relationship simply broke down. Now you have half a system, custom code nobody explains, and a team that's lost faith in it.

You need an honest view of what's salvageable and what it will cost to finish, from someone with no stake in defending the work that was done.

What's included

  • Audit

Configuration, custom and third-party modules, data quality, access rights and hosting, reviewed in days, not weeks.

  • Honest findings

What works, what's broken, what's risky and what was never needed, without blaming anyone.

  • Stabilise

The urgent fixes first, so invoicing, stock and payroll can be trusted again.

  • Finish

The remaining scope, re-planned and quoted at a fixed price, with the parts we'd drop listed separately.

  • Code and data clean-up

Unneeded modules removed, duplicate or broken data fixed, and custom code brought up to a maintainable standard.

  • Retraining

Fresh sessions for the people who stopped using Odoo, on the system as it now works.

  • Hand back

Documentation, repository access and admin rights in your hands, whether or not you keep working with us.

How it runs

Timings are typical for a small or mid-sized rollout. Your written plan sets the real dates.

  1. 1

    Audit

    Week 1

Read-only access to the database, code and hosting, and interviews with the people using it.

  2. 2

    Findings and options

    End of week 1–2

A written report with options: fix and finish, partial rebuild, or in rare cases a fresh start, each with a cost.

  3. 3

    Stabilise

    Weeks 2–3

Urgent fixes to what's live, so the business can operate while the rest is planned.

  4. 4

    Finish

    Weeks 3–10

The remaining work delivered in short stages, each tested by your team before the next starts.

  5. 5

    Hand back

Documentation, training and full access in your name, plus optional support.

What it costs

Odoo Rescue audit

from$500

What the starting price covers

A written audit of an unfinished or unstable Odoo project: configuration, custom code, data and what it would take to finish, with options and costs.

Founding-client price in US dollars. The free assessment ends in a fixed written quote; Odoo licences, where you need them, are paid to Odoo separately.

Odoo Rescue: questions

Is it better to fix our Odoo or start again?

Usually fix. Most stalled projects have a sound core with a few wrong decisions and too much custom code around them. Starting again makes sense only when the configuration is fundamentally wrong for the business or the data can't be trusted, and even then the existing data and lessons save time. The audit gives you both options with costs.

What does an Odoo rescue cost?

The audit starts at $500 and takes about a week for most small and mid-sized projects. Stabilising and finishing are quoted after it. As an estimate, finishing a stalled small-business project typically costs between a third and two thirds of what a fresh implementation would, depending on how much of the original work holds up.

Our previous partner still has access. What should we do?

Make sure your company owns the Odoo subscription, the database and the code repository, and that you hold the main admin login. We help with that handover as part of the audit, including on Odoo.sh where project ownership needs moving. Then you decide whose access to keep. We work through accounts you can revoke, too.

Will you criticise the previous partner's work?

We'll describe it accurately. Our report says what was built, what doesn't work and why it matters to you, without commentary on people. Odoo projects go wrong for many reasons, and unclear scope on both sides is more common than bad faith.

Can you rescue a project on an old version of Odoo?

Yes. Sometimes the right move is to stabilise on the current version and upgrade once things are calm; sometimes it's cheaper to finish the work directly on the current version. The audit compares both.

We don't have the source code for our custom modules. Is that a problem?

On Odoo.sh or a self-hosted server, the code is on the server, so we can recover it. On Odoo Online there's no custom code to recover, only Studio changes, which export with the database. If anything is genuinely missing, the audit says so and prices a replacement.
