Where things usually stand
Your Odoo version is falling out of support, or you're still on QuickBooks, Xero or an older ERP and the business has outgrown it.
You've heard the upgrade stories: custom modules that no longer install, reports that changed, a weekend cut-over that ran into Wednesday.
Most of that risk comes from upgrading straight into production. A rehearsal on a copy of your data, checked by your own people, removes most of it.
What's included
Upgrade assessment
Your version, installed apps, custom modules and data size, with a list of what will change and what will need work.
Test upgrade
A full upgrade of a copy of your database, so your team can check real records before anything touches production.
Custom module porting
Your own and third-party modules updated to the new version, or replaced by standard features where Odoo now covers them.

Community to Enterprise
Moving a Community database onto Enterprise, including onto Odoo Online or Odoo.sh where that fits.

Balances, stock values and open items compared before and after, signed off by your finance lead.
Planned cut-over
A written cut-over plan with a time window, a rollback point and a consultant on call.

Migration & upgrades: questions
How much does an Odoo upgrade cost?
Our starting price is $1,000 for a database with a few standard apps and no custom modules. Custom and third-party modules are what drive the cost: as an estimate, each one adds anywhere from a few hours to several days depending on size. The assessment lists every module with its own price before you commit.
Can we upgrade from an old version straight to Odoo 19 or 20?
Usually yes. Odoo's upgrade service can take an Enterprise database from an older version to any major version still in standard support in one go, and we handle the custom modules and testing around it. Community databases have no official Odoo upgrade service, so we use the community OpenUpgrade scripts plus our own fixes, which takes longer and is quoted after a test run.
How long will we be offline during the upgrade?
For most small and mid-sized databases the cut-over takes a few hours to a day, usually over a weekend. The rehearsal tells us the real figure for your data, so the downtime window is measured rather than guessed.
Can you migrate us from QuickBooks or Xero to Odoo?
Yes. We bring across customers, suppliers, products, open invoices and bills, and opening balances at a cut-off date agreed with your accountant. Full transaction history usually stays in the old system as a read-only archive, because importing years of history costs more than it is worth for most businesses. If you need it, we quote it separately.
Should we move from Community to Enterprise?
Move if you need an Enterprise-only app (full Accounting, Helpdesk, Payroll, Field Service, Barcode and others), if you want Odoo's upgrade service, or if running your own server has become a burden. Stay on Community if it covers you and someone reliable keeps it patched. We give you the licence cost for your user count alongside our quote so you can compare.
What happens to our custom modules?
Each one is checked against the new version. Some are no longer needed because Odoo now does the same thing as standard, some need small updates, and a few need rewriting. You get that list, module by module, in the assessment.
