Where things usually stand
Orders arrive from Shopify or Amazon, payments from Stripe, tracking numbers from a carrier, and someone retypes them all into Odoo.
Or an integration exists, but it fails quietly. You find out when a customer asks where their order is, or when stock goes negative.
A good integration does less than people expect: it moves the right records, in one clear direction, and tells someone when it can't.
What's included
Odoo's own connectors first
Payment providers, shipping carriers, bank feeds and marketplace connectors that Odoo already offers, configured and tested.
eCommerce and marketplaces
Orders, customers, products and stock synced between Odoo and Shopify, WooCommerce or Amazon, using an existing connector or a custom one.
Custom API integrations
Two-way links to your own software or a supplier's system using Odoo's external API and webhooks.
Data mapping
A written map of which fields go where, who wins when both sides change, and what happens to records that don't match.
Error handling and logs
Retries, a log you can read inside Odoo and an email to a named person when something fails.
Security review
API keys scoped to what the integration needs, stored properly, and rotated on handover.
How it runs
Timings are typical for a small or mid-sized rollout. Your written plan sets the real dates.
- 1
Map the flow
Week 1Which system is the source of truth for each record, in which direction, and how often.
- 2
Choose the route
Standard connector, trusted third-party module or custom code, with the trade-offs and cost of each.
- 3
Build and test
1–3 weeksBuilt against sandbox accounts where the other system has them, with edge cases such as refunds and partial deliveries.
- 4
Go live and monitor
Switched on with close monitoring for the first two weeks, then handed over with the error log explained.
What it costs

What the starting price covers
One standard connector set up and tested, such as a payment provider, a shipping carrier or a Shopify store, syncing in one direction.
Founding-client price in US dollars. The free assessment ends in a fixed written quote; Odoo licences, where you need them, are paid to Odoo separately.
Integrations: questions
How much does an Odoo integration cost?
Setting up one of Odoo's standard connectors, such as a payment provider or shipping carrier, starts at $500. A two-way sync with Shopify or a marketplace using an existing connector is more often $1,000 to $3,000, and a custom integration with your own system typically runs $2,500 to $8,000 depending on the number of record types and how well documented the other side's API is. These are estimates; you get a fixed quote after the mapping session. Some third-party connectors also carry their own licence fee.
Does Odoo have an API?
Yes. Odoo exposes an external API over XML-RPC and JSON-RPC, but since Odoo 19 those are deprecated in favour of the newer JSON-2 API with API keys, so new integrations we build use JSON-2. On Odoo's paid plans, external API access requires the Custom plan, so we check your subscription before we design anything.
Do you use third-party connectors or build your own?
Whichever is cheaper to run over three years. Odoo's own connectors come first. A well-maintained connector from the Odoo App Store is often next. We build custom only when neither handles your case, and we tell you which one we picked and why.
What happens when the other system changes its API?
It will happen eventually. We keep integrations in a separate module with its own tests, so a change on the other side is a contained fix. Our support plans include monitoring the integration logs and updating connectors when a provider announces a change.
Can you integrate Odoo with our in-house software?
Yes. Our own engineering team builds custom software, so we're comfortable on both sides of the link. If your system has no API, we can add one or use a secure file exchange as a fallback.
