Good to know before you start
Odoo is not an electronic health record or a full student information system, and we don't present it as one. We keep clinical and academic records in the specialist system and connect Odoo to it for billing, scheduling or enquiries where that helps.
Health and children's data carry extra legal duties, such as HIPAA in the US or UK GDPR. We design access rights so Odoo holds only the personal data the business side needs, and our cybersecurity team can review the setup.
Odoo's standard apps include appointment booking, events and online courses, which some clinics and training providers use for scheduling and short courses. We check in the assessment whether they fit your rules or a specialist tool is safer.
VAT and e-invoicing rules, such as ZATCA in Saudi Arabia or Making Tax Digital in the UK, can be configured with Odoo's localisation modules, and healthcare or education services are often taxed differently. We confirm your country's requirements in the assessment.

Can Odoo store patient medical records?
It isn't designed for it, and we don't recommend it. Clinical records belong in a system built and certified for them. Odoo runs the business around them: billing, purchasing, supplies, staff and enquiries, connected to the clinical system where needed.
Can Odoo manage students, admissions and fees?
Fees, invoicing, enquiries and admissions pipelines, yes, using Invoicing, CRM and the website. Timetables, grades and academic records are better in a dedicated student information system or a specialist third-party Odoo module, which we'd evaluate with you rather than assume.
Is Odoo suitable for a charity or nonprofit school?
Often, yes. Community is free to use, and Odoo's accounting handles grants and restricted funds through analytic accounting. Licensing for Enterprise is the same per-user subscription as for any business, so we compare both editions for your user count.
How do you protect sensitive personal data in Odoo?
By keeping as little as possible in it, limiting who can see each record type, enforcing two-factor sign-in for staff with access to personal data, and logging access. Our Odoo Security Check reviews that setup, and our cybersecurity team can test it.
Can we roll Odoo out across several sites?
Yes. Each clinic, campus or centre can be its own warehouse, department or company in one database, with group-level reporting. We usually go live on one site first.
